Norristown, PA - Following a lengthy, arduous nationwide search to find its next Executive Director, Montgomery Bar Association announces the hiring of one of Montgomery County's own to succeed its recently retired Executive Director of 29 years, Nancy R. Paul.
Montgomery Bar Association is pleased to introduce its next Executive Director, Denise S. Vicario, Esq. Ms. Vicario officially assumed duties as Executive Director of the 2,000+ member professional organization for attorney and judges on Monday, July 6, 2020.
As a lawyer, an active bar leader, and most recently Chief Deputy Court Administrator for Montgomery County's Court of Common Pleas, Ms. Vicario brings with her a unique skillset, including first-hand knowledge, experience and understanding of the legal community, the court system, and local culture. She has a keen understanding of the association's diversified membership, as well as the needs of those who live and work in the communities the association and its members aims to serve.
Ms. Vicario is a Juris Doctor graduate of Widener University School of Law with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International History and Relations from Saint Joseph's University. Since passing the Bar, she has served the courts, the public and the profession in varied capacities. She began her journey in the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office and in our District Courts, and later accepted a position with the Superior Court of California in Orange County – one of the largest trial courts in the nation – managing diverse areas of court administration and implementing large-scale court enhancement projects. She then spent time in private practice before overseeing court operations for the Criminal Division and Special Courts in Montgomery County. During the past six years, since being promoted to the position of Chief Deputy Court Administrator for Montgomery County's Court of Common Pleas, she's worked diligently to implement major changes while helping to manage and oversee operations of one of Pennsylvania's most highly regarded court systems -- a system made up of 24 Common Pleas Judges, 30 Magisterial District Judges and over 500 staff members.
Since joining the Montgomery Bar Association in 2003, Ms. Vicario has served as a Director, Chair and Vice-Chair of multiple committees including the Law Reporter Committee, Awards Committee, SideBar Committee, Diversity Committee, Women in the Law Committee, Community Outreach Committee and others. She's also served on the Advisory Board Montgomery Child Advocacy Project (MCAP) since 2015. Ms. Vicario is a longtime resident of Montgomery County, and in her spare time enjoys travel, time with friends and family, and volunteering for projects that impact the local community.
