Summary

This program will explore the role of lawyers, representing applicants, objectors, and municipal boards in encouraging civil discourse at public meetings that can be increasingly contentious and difficult to manage.

The discussion will include a review of strategies and protocols to help keep discourse at public meetings respectful, managed, and on track. Audience members will be encouraged to offer suggestions concerning how to "turn down the temperature" and increase the productivity and effectiveness of public meetings.
