Bio:
Elected to the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas in November of 2009, Judge Carluccio is presently assigned to the Civil Division after sitting on both the Criminal and Family Court Bench. Previous to taking the Bench, Judge Carluccio enjoyed a diverse and successful legal career, primarily in the public sector. She began her career as a federal prosecutor in United States Attorney's Office for 9 years where she prosecuted large scale drug dealers, white-collar fraud, and health care crimes. Thereafter, she became the first woman Chief Public Defender for Montgomery County. She also served as the Chief Deputy Solicitor for the County, where she supervised contract negotiations, real estate transactions, personnel, and open space. She represented the county in litigation over the Barnes Foundation art gallery and negotiated the purchase of a $27 million dollar building saving taxpayers over a million dollars in broker and legal fees. While serving as solicitor, she was unanimously appointed by the Board of County Commissioners as Acting Director of Human Resources for 3700 county employees. Judge Carluccio has trained both attorneys and law enforcement personnel in topics including drug interdiction, asset forfeiture, money laundering, white collar crime, family law issues and trial advocacy. She has received numerous awards and commendations from the U.S. Treasury Department, DEA, FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Secret Service, U.S. Army, and local civics groups. In addition to being a Past President of the MBA and her involvement in the PBA, Judge Carluccio remains active in several community and charity endeavors. She, her husband Tom, also a lawyer, and three sons live in Blue Bell.
