Mariellen Bello's practice includes extensive litigation in federal courts defending employment discrimination claims and representing multi-employer benefit funds in ERISA actions. She has also practiced extensively before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission defending employers charged with employment discrimination, such as sex, age, race, and disability claims.  Mariellen also regularly advises employers regarding how to handle employment decisions and policies, such as decisions to lay off employees, requests for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act, pregnancy discrimination, disability accommodations, excessive absenteeism, internal claims by employees of discrimination, investigation of sexual harassment allegations, and handling social media issues within the workplace.  Mariellen has spoken extensively about sexual harassment and retaliation avoidance and also social media use in the employment context.  She combines knowledge of the law with a practical approach to minimize employer risk.
