Bio: Melissa represents companies with a variety of employment matters including trade secret protection, restrictive covenant litigation, race, sex, religion and other unlawful harassment investigations and litigation, Family and Medical Leave and Americans with Disabilities Act counseling and litigation, labor relations and grievance arbitrations, and general matters affecting the employment relationship such as employment agreements, handbooks, and separation agreements. Melissa also represents ERISA plan fiduciaries and administrators of employer-sponsored welfare benefit plans. Melissa served as State Representative (148th District) and served on the Judiciary, Urban Affairs, and Health and Human Services Committees. Melissa was previously an Assistant District Attorney for more than six years, including service as the captain of specialized units. n nIn 2017, Melissa was named one of the top 50 female lawyers in Pennsylvania by Super Lawyers and has been recognized annually as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. Melissa received the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce's Wynn Group's Award for Women's Leadership Excellence and the Philadelphia Business Journal's "40 Under 40" award as one of the Greater Philadelphia Area's Most Promising Leaders. n nMelissa received her B.A. in Economics from Denison University, her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, and her LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple University School of Law, graduating with honors. At Denison, Melissa was twice elected captain of Denison's nationally-ranked women's lacrosse team; and achieved All-American honors. At Widener, Melissa was Vice-President of the Moot Court Honor Society Board and won competition team awards. In addition to her involvement with the MBA, Melissa is a member of the PBA and DRI and serves as a hearing committee member for PA Disciplinary Board. Melissa is active in her community as Secretary of the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA) and served six years as supervisor in Whitpain Township, including as Chair and two years on its Zoning Hearing Board.
