ALEX J. MURLAND is a Principal of the firm and concentrates his practice in the areas of business and real estate transactions. He has over 30 years of experience representing entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized business owners with a primary focus on their corporate, real estate, employment, and financing issues.
Alex assists clients with the formation, startup, and dissolution of businesses. He negotiates both the purchase and sale of various businesses including medical practices, ancillary healthcare providers, professional practices, insurance agencies, title insurance agencies, restaurants and also assists with the purchase and sale of liquor licenses. In his business practice, Alex drafts the following types of agreements: employment, restrictive covenant, shareholders, partnership, operating, management, and consulting agreements. He has experience negotiating workouts with lenders and creditors.
Alex represents owners of multi-family residential and commercial real estate as their ongoing general legal counsel. This includes assistance with their borrowing requirements, leasing matters, and the purchase and sale of real estate. In connection with his practice, Alex actively oversees the various types of commercial litigation which arise from the representation of his business and real estate clients.

Alex's previous experience includes work at a Montgomery County and a Philadelphia firm, as well as 26 years in private practice. In addition, Alex served as VP of two regional financial institutions. He also served as an Adjunct Professor of Hospitality and Restaurant Law at Drexel University.
