Bio: She was born and grew up in New Jersey, living most of her life on Long Beach Island in Ocean County. She earned her law degree from Temple University?s Beasley School of Law, and was admitted to the Bar in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Before attending law school, she graduated from Lafayette College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Environmental Science.

In her previous practice, she specialized in employment law, representing both private individuals and members of the local chapters of the Policemen's Benevolence Association (PBA) in worker's compensation, wrongful termination, discrimination, and retaliation cases in both NJ and PA. She focused on Title VII, ADA, PHRA, and ADEA discrimination cases at the state and federal level, as well as union contract negotiation and disciplinary hearings.

Michelle currently works as a Staff Attorney for Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania (LASP), in their Norristown Office. Her primary focus is landlord-tenant law, assisting tenants facing habitability issues, evictions, and subsidized housing issues. Currently, Michelle is the lead attorney assigned to support the EPIC (Eviction Prevention and Intervention Coalition) Program, a proactive joint effort between Your Way Home of Montgomery County, LASP, and the Montgomery County Bar Association. The program seeks to provide financial assistance and limited same-day representation to tenants prior to the eviction hearing, to hopefully settle cases and prevent homelessness prior to eviction. Since Michelle began working with the EPIC Program, it has expanded from operating in one (1) Magisterial District Court to seven (7) throughout Montgomery County.

Michelle is also involved in the Montgomery Bar Associations Diversity Committee, where hopes her experience as a transwoman can be helpful to other underrepresented communities in the legal field. She is also a Citizen Science collaborator with Zooniverse, assisting in quantifying large datasets for scientific study.

Michelle currently lives in Philadelphia with her wife, Hannah. They are kept company by their wonderful dogs, Cody and Dug, their rabbits, Flounder and Atilla the Bun, and their two horses, Jackson and Lewis.
